Following the Little People, Big World star’s emergency shunt revision, his wife Tori Roloff informed her 1.9 million Instagram followers that Zach “is doing well and recovering” due to the procedure.

“This was not at all how we had planned our vacation…” Tori, 31, wrote in the caption that Zachary needed an emergency shunt revision this morning. “It’s been a terrifying 72 hours, but he’s okay and healing!! Regardless of what has occurred!”

She expressed gratitude to friends, family, and supporters, as well as Zach’s neurosurgeon team, for “their attentiveness to Zach’s needs!” and shared photos of Zach from his hospital bed, giving a thumbs up.

“We feel so loved and supported by you,” she said. “I’d also like to thank Zach’s mother, Amy Roloff, for holding the fort and playing hide and seek for who knows how many hours.”

“I’m praying that Zach’s recovery will be quick and painless, and that this will be the answer to our prayers for Zach’s headache relief! Zach, you are an incredible human being. Period. You just had brain surgery… and acted like a rock star. You make me extremely proud.”

A shunt is a hollow tube surgically placed in the brain — or occasionally in the spine — to aid in the drainage of cerebrospinal fluid and the redirection of that fluid to another location in the body where it can be reabsorbed, according to John Hopkins Medicine. This procedure may be used to treat a condition known as hydrocephalus.

Zach’s father, Matt Roloff, previously announced that his son was about to undergo an “essential shunt adjustment.” He asked their fans to pray for them and their family.

Tori also shared an Instagram Story with her fans, which has since been deleted. She explained in it that she “hesitated” before telling them the news but that she “really believes in prayer” and “may need some” the next day.

“Even though they say it’s a routine procedure,” Tori continued, “I have no idea what to expect, and Zach and I are nervous.” “It appears to be a big deal to us, but we have faith in his doctors’ abilities and expertise!”Any prayers would be greatly appreciated!”
