Country music singer Toby Keith is discussing his health for the first time. The fan favorite received a stomach cancer diagnosis in the fall of 2021. Since then, he has been receiving treatment.

On his social media profiles, Keith made a health-related post. He said, “I’ve spent the last six months receiving chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. Good news so far. I must pause for a moment to catch my breath, recharge, and relax.

Despite his health issues, Keith says he will always remember his friends and supporters. He said, “I’m looking forward to being with my family.” But I’ll definitely run into the supporters shortly. I can’t even wait. -T.”

What would happen to Keith’s scheduled performances in the upcoming months was unknown in light of this news. His next performance was scheduled for June 17 in Wheaton, Illinois, according to his website.

The cancellation of Keith’s July 28 show in Columbus, Ohio was verified by the Ohio State Fair after Keith made the news. Specific tour dates may also be postponed, according to Keith’s publicist Elaine Schock, “but I’m not sure how many at this point.”

The singer’s most recent album, “Peso in my Pocket,” which was published last year after a protracted tour delay due to Covid pandemic restrictions, was also confirmed for release on his website.

Keith claimed that the inspiration for the album’s songs came to him on the spur of the moment while he was out running.

Before starting to run, “I’d look at the song ideas I had on my phone, and then I’d take off,” he recalled. “My time would be up before I knew it, and I’d have been working nonstop, churning out melodies in my head. I would get home, activate the recorder on my phone, and capture what I could.

It was a great time for him to write, he said.

One of the pillars of the music business is Toby Keith. The National Endowment for the Arts defined the “National Medal of Arts,” which was awarded to him in 2021, as “the highest distinction offered to artists and arts patrons by the United States government.”

According to a statement made by the National Endowment for the Arts in January 2021, “Toby Keith is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and humanitarian who has participated in 11 USO Tours to date.”

There are 32 number-one singles by him.

Veteran musician Keith has performed for American troops deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq. Additionally, he has performed for former presidents Donald Trump, Barack Obama, and George W. Bush.

Keith has long stood up for cancer patients, and he will do so in the future. Ten years ago, he established the Toby Keith Foundation to help sick children and their families. The “OK Kids Korral” facility launched in 2014 and gave kids getting chemotherapy a free, practical, and welcoming place to stay.

Keith’s most well-known songs are “I Wanna Talk About Me” and “Red Solo Cup.”
