In a touching conversation with Oprah in 2012, Reba recounted the somber moments following the crash: “The tip of the wing of the airplane hit a rock on the side of Otay Mountain, and it killed everyone on the plane,” she shared.
Reba’s manager, Narvel, was the bearer of the grim news. “Narvel came back to the hotel room—two or three o’clock in the morning—and told me that one of the planes had crashed,” she remembered through tears.
When she inquired about the fate of those on board, Narvel’s response was uncertain, leaving Reba with a painful realization. Despite it being over two decades since, the memory of that night remains vivid in her heart.
