Mark Consuelos, husband of Kelly Ripa, recently shared in an exclusive interview that he is not interested in having any more children but is excited about the prospect of becoming a grandfather. At 51 years old, Consuelos acknowledges his age and desire to not have additional parenting responsibilities as reasons why he would be unlikely to remarry after Ripa.
Consuelos expressed his desire to embrace a new role as a grandparent rather than an older father with extra responsibilities. The couple, Ripa and Consuelos, are embarking on a new and exciting chapter in their lives as they anticipate becoming grandparents. Despite feeling young when they were raising their own children, Ripa admits that many older men she knows are now choosing to take the same path.
Having raised their three children, Michael (25), Joaquin (20), and Lola (21), Ripa and Consuelos have now entered a phase of life where they can fully embrace the joys of being grandparents. Ripa celebrated her son’s 20th birthday last month by sharing throwback photos on her Instagram Story, reminding her of how quickly time passes and that her children are now officially adults.
During a recent appearance on “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” Ripa reflected on her children growing up and how it all seemed to happen in the blink of an eye. When asked if she and Mark were proud parents now that their children were grown, Kelly responded with enthusiasm, saying that it felt like only a second had passed.
In addition to focusing on their family, Kelly Ripa is also excited about her new podcast, “Let’s Talk Off Camera,” which she has co-created with SiriusXM and Milojo Productions, a company she owns with her husband. The podcast, set to launch on March 22, will feature guests like Anderson Cooper, Andy Cohen, Carol Burnett, and Matthew McConaughey.
Reflecting on the decision to start the podcast now, Ripa imagines how things would have been different if they had waited until their children were older. With their children entering adulthood, Ripa and Consuelos are seizing the opportunity to pursue new ventures and find joy in the next phase of their lives.
Mark Consuelos’s excitement about becoming a grandfather serves as a reminder that life is full of new beginnings and the chance to embrace different roles and experiences.
