By September, the royal family and the public celebrated with her, as she announced in a touching video that she had beaten cancer and was now in the clear after chemotherapy.

This past weekend, Kate joined King Charles III and other royal family members for the moving Remembrance event. Queen Camilla was notably absent due to a chest infection. Kate was expected to stand solo on the central balcony, but instead, she was accompanied by Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, on a nearby balcony.
The two royals watched the wreath-laying ceremony together, paying their respects to those who perished in the World Wars and other conflicts. Cameras captured them deep in conversation during this important televised moment.

“Sophie assumed a supportive role for William amid his absence,” noted James. “She was right by Kate’s side on the balcony. While Kate radiated assurance in the spot once held by the late Queen, Sophie acted as a watchful ally, similar to how Anne did with Charles.”
