Former US President Bill Clinton Discharged from Hospital

Former US President Bill Clinton has been released from the hospital after receiving treatment for the flu. A spokesperson shared this update on Tuesday.

Angel Ureña, the spokesperson, expressed that Clinton and his family are extremely thankful for the outstanding care given by the medical team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. They are also touched by the kind messages and well wishes received during this time, as shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Bill Clinton was admitted to Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC, on Monday night for tests and observation after he came down with a fever.

The 78-year-old Clinton had previously been hospitalized in 2021 for six days in California when he developed an infection that escalated into his bloodstream.

Having served as the 42nd President of the United States from 1993 to 2001, Clinton is no stranger to health challenges, notably heart issues.

Back in 2004, when he was 58, Clinton underwent a quadruple bypass surgery after doctors detected signs of serious heart disease. A decade later, he had another procedure to open a clogged artery after he experienced chest pains.

Since leaving office, Clinton has been active in various initiatives, notably establishing the Clinton Foundation. The foundation has collaborated with the American Heart Association to create the Alliance for a Healthier Generation.

In a remarkable lifestyle change following his second surgery, Clinton, once known for his fondness for rich foods, chose to adopt a vegan diet. Speaking about this change to Politico in 2016, he mentioned, “I might not be around if I hadn’t become a vegan. It’s great.”

Clinton also played a role in the political arena this year. He traveled throughout the country to support Vice-President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign.

Most recently, last month, he introduced his latest book titled “Citizen: My Life After the White House.”
