In the year 1991, on the campus of BYU, students Dave Boyce and Bob Ahlander laid the foundations of the nine-member acapella ensemble known as BYU Vocal Point. It quickly garnered admiration across the campus, with their inaugural concert seeing a complete sell-out.
BYU Vocal Point’s Journey to Acapella Fame
Since their humble beginnings, BYU Vocal Point have accumulated numerous accolades, proudly clinching fifth place in NBC’s The Sing-Off’s third season. In December 2018, they joyously announced their signing with Decca Gold, a distinguished division of Universal Music Group. As member Jason Bromley eloquently put it, “We’re ordinary college students doing extraordinary things.”
