Prince Harry’s Breaking Point: the Final Straw

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s strained relationship with the British monarchy is no secret. The pair wanted to detach themselves from royal obligations, eventually fleeing to the United States. However, a royal specialist claims that one episode pushed Harry over the edge.

The decision that appears to have triggered Harry and Meghan’s departure was King Charles’ order for them to evacuate Frogmore Cottage, their royal headquarters in the UK. This action came three years after the pair stood down from their royal positions.

According to royal researcher Tom Quinn, Harry considered his father’s action “vindictive.” In fact, Harry surreptitiously shifted his principal residence on the same day they were evicted from Frogmore Cottage. According to Quinn, “At the time, few people realized what a slap in the face the eviction from Frogmore felt like for Harry – it was the last straw.”

Harry was reportedly “absolutely furious and in tears” after being thrown out of Frogmore. He believed King Charles had no right to make such a decision and saw it as a terrible rejection, similar to his parents’ agonizing divorce.

The future of Harry’s connection with his father is unknown. While they briefly reconnected following Charles’ cancer diagnosis, it is unknown what comes next for them. Harry will return to the United Kingdom in May to mark the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games. According to reports, Prince William and Kate Middleton may not meet with him, but King Charles does wish to spend time with his grandkids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who live in the United States.

As we await the future unfoldings, the question remains: is there any way back for Prince Harry? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
